Brown Widow Spider

Closely related to the deadly black widow, the brown widow spider (Latrodectus geometricus) has weaker venom, but nonetheless poses a lethal threat to small children.

It turned up in Queensland about 15 years ago, presumably as a stowaway in foreign cargo.
