Mosquito Fish

Mosquito fish (Gambusia holbrooki), which were released into streams all over Australia to eat mosquito larvae, are blamed for the declines of various native fish.

They prey on fish eggs and nips fins of larger species. Native to the Gulf streams of North America, the mosquito fish is now the most widespread freshwater fish on earth.
